About The Panelists:
Eric Liu, MD, FACS
Dr. Eric Liu is a renowned surgeon specializing in neuroendocrine disease and the co-founder of the Healing NET Foundation. He established the first U.S. clinical trial for the Gallium 68 PET scan to diagnose neuroendocrine tumors and trained at the world-leading Neuroendocrine Center of Excellence in Sweden. Dr. Liu lectures nationwide and co-founded The Neuroendocrine Institute at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in Denver. A Harvard and Columbia alumnus, he has earned numerous accolades, including the National Cancer Institute’s Paul Calabresi Award for Clinical Oncology.
Inger Brueckner, PT
Inger Brueckner PT, is a skilled clinician with extensive experience working on multidisciplinary teams at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver. A clinician for over 30 years, she has served as the primary physical therapist for the Advanced Amputee Care Center Team for the past 20 years. She also developed an advanced active rehabilitation program for children with concussion for the Center for Concussion (part of Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children). She has published an article on pre-prosthetic rehabilitation and chapter on physical therapy after joint replacement in a patient handbook. She has presented outcome posters the American Physical Therapy Association’s Combined Section Meeting (APTA CSM). She has developed protocols for pre- and post- limb loss surgery including osseointegration. She has been invited to speak at local, national and international conferences. Currently, she develops and presents continuing education courses for Education Resources Inc, and Plus by Physiopedia. In 2021 she became a Certified Franklin Method Educator. Inger Brueckner graduated from the University of California at Davis in 1991 with a BS in Physiology and from Boston University with an MS in Physical Therapy.
Paul Jett, MD
Paul is a board certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician in Kingsport, Tennessee. His practice focuses on interventional spine management along with non-addictive approaches to pain management. He recently became certified in medical acupuncture.
He is originally from Lexington, Kentucky, and went to college at the University of Kentucky. He graduated from medical school at the University of Louisville in 2001 and completed his residency in Charlotte, North Carolina, at Carolinas Medical Center. Paul later obtained a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. He is a devout University of Kentucky fan despite living in enemy territory.
Franchesca König, MD and Assistant Professor
Dr. Franchesca König is a board-certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician with fellowship training in Cancer Rehabilitation Medicine. Originally from Puerto Rico, she earned her medical degree from San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Caguas, Puerto Rico. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York, followed by a fellowship in Cancer Rehabilitation Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she later practiced as an attending physician. She currently serves as the Medical Director of Cancer Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Colorado – Anschutz Medical Campus.
William Pickett, CSFA
Will Pickett has over 20 years experience in the operating room and is currently a Certified Surgical First Assistant. He works closely alongside Dr. Eric Liu, Neuroendocrine specialist, at HCA HealthONE Presbyterian Saint Luke’s (PSL). Will is in a unique position as he has learned a vast amount of knowledge about neuroendocrine cancer from Dr. Liu, and the patients that come through the operating rooms.
In his free time, Will is a powerlifter and fitness enthusiast, which he found during a time in his life where he was dealing with alcoholism and obesity. As he approached the age of 50, Will knew it was time to make big changes in his life to become the healthiest and most productive husband, father and professional at work. Several years sober, Will has achieved remarkable numbers in the gym and is passionate about the work he does alongside Dr. Liu. Will is married to Dr Liu's Clinical Nurse, Kate Pickett. Together, they are raising two amazing sons, with whom he shares several passions.
